When there is a lot of discussion about artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics, you may be wondering how to use such technology in your current work-space or BI environment. Fortunately, existing BI platforms have begun to integrate this technology into their platforms in an intuitive way, where human intuition can add more value to your current BI solutions. These can be used across the organization and are easy to use for any user, regardless of whether they do not possess deeper programmatic or mathematical knowledge. Smartness is often in simplicity and not in complexity, which many may misunderstand. New BI solutions are therefore called 3rd generation BI tools.

WHAT DO YOU GET FROM THESE 3RD GENERATION BI TOOLS?
Increased productivity through task automation.
Increased adoption by making the tools easier to use.
Save money by upgrading your analytical skills.
Developed analytical reading skills.
Reduced time to find new insights.
Trained beginners much faster.
When we talk about artificial intelligence integrated into Business Intelligence tools, you can imagine an extra layer of technology that can see your metadata and your data model so you can get data visualizations that are easily understood by the human eye. This is what we refer to as Augmented Intelligence.
Augmented Intelligence represents the third generation of BI software, and it can deliver greater productivity, literacy and more insight. AI will transform BI from a hypothesis-based approach to automated analysis validation. In other words, Augmented Intelligence can present automated visualizations that allow you to instantly validate your theories and hypotheses, avoiding pitfalls and heading in the right direction.
WHAT DO YOU GET WITH AUGMENTED INTELLIGENCE FOR REPORTING & DASHBOARDS?

Natural Language Interface
Insights and forecasts with just one click.
Creating and selecting automatic diagrams.
Recommended actions.
QLIK'S UNIQUE APPROACH

Qlik uses its own unique engine to instantly associate large amounts of data via a unique color scheme that Qlik itself refers to as the Qlik Associative Engine. This is a more advantageous way of tapping through data compared to common SQL queries that take much longer and do not provide the same dynamics that Qlik offers in its BI platform.

Augmented Intelligence is about relying on the data insight provided by the Qlik Associative Engine, so it is important to have a simple integration between the human insights and the visualizations presented by the Qlik Cognitive Engine . This way, one can verify that the Qlik Cognitive Engine provides the right insight.

WHAT IS YOUR SWEET SPOT?
When machines and humans work together, we can create a powerful sweet spot where the total is better than the sum of each part individually (The quote above assumes statistically derived insights combined with human-driven intuition gut feeling and context). This can give us new and much more valuable insights that we did not see before. Interested in learning more about AI or Qlik?
